Jim Franklin is Associate Dean of the Business School at Western Governors University, leading online competency-based programs in accounting and finance. A licensed CPA, he focuses on workforce-ready education and stronger pathways for CPA candidates.
Before joining Western Governors University, Jim spent more than a decade as Program Director for the Master's in Professional Accounting program at The University of Texas at Austin, where he expanded employer engagement and supported national program growth. He also brings over ten years of experience at Deloitte advising Fortune 500 clients and continues to serve as an Academic Champion for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, contributing to tax competencies assessed on the CPA Exam.
