Excel Guru. Of course I have a spreadsheet for that.
What CPA stereotype do you defy?
Bean counter. I say decision-maker.
Why did you choose to become a CPA?
I wanted a career where I’d never stop learning, where I could be both analytical and strategic, and becoming a CPA checked all the boxes. Plus, there’s nothing more satisfying than a perfectly reconciled schedule.
What's Your CPA "superpower"?
Problem solving, whether it’s in Excel, a WIP schedule, or deep in the ERP system.
What's something that you've done that has nothing to do with accounting but you're really proud of?
Helping lead my company through the transition to a 100% employee-owned company has been one of the most rewarding(and challenging) experiences of my career. It’s about ownership, legacy, and giving people a stake in something bigger, and that goes way beyond accounting.
What advice would you give to your younger self before taking the CPA exam?
Not everyone learns best by reading a textbook cover to cover, some of us need hands-on experience to really connect the dots.
