Accountants can in fact be fact be fun and interesting
Why did you choose to become a CPA?
I always loved numbers but didn't know how to translate that into a career. In college, my original major was political science and then I changed to education. In my sophomore year, my roommate told me I was really good at numbers and encouraged me to take an accounting class. I was probably the only person in that class who loved it and I have been all in on accounting ever since.
What's Your CPA "superpower"?
Deciphering complex standards and translating into plain English
What's something that you've done that has nothing to do with accounting but you're really proud of?
I was part of the band at Texas A&M that played at the basketball and volleyball games. This provided me with amazing experiences and chance to unwind from the rigors of upper-level accounting classes
