What CPA stereotype do you embody?
Trustworthy and ethical – Positively, I am seen as honest and a reliable professional.

What CPA stereotype do you defy?
People assume I can do math in my head really fast! Nope!

Why did you choose to become a CPA?
You know, when I was younger, I actually wanted to be a pediatrician—helping kids and all that. But then I thought, if I ever ran my own practice, I’d need to be a boss at managing money and keeping things organized. That’s when I discovered CPAs—people who are super detail-oriented and totally rock at handling finances. So, I decided to become a CPA myself, to get all that know-how and be in control of my own success. Plus, who says working with numbers can’t be fun?

What's Your CPA "superpower"?
My CPA superpower? It’s mastering the art of multitasking like a pro. While others might complain about long hours and feeling overwhelmed, I’ve figured out how to get the job done and still show up for my kids’ activities, church, and quality time with family and friends. I don’t just survive busy seasons — I thrive in them, proving you can have a successful CPA career and a life outside the office.

What's something that you've done that has nothing to do with accounting but you're really proud of?
Something I’m really proud of—outside of accounting—is being a mom who has weathered some truly tough times. Parenthood has tested me in ways no balance sheet ever could, and coming through those challenges stronger has been one of my greatest achievements. It’s taught me resilience, patience, and unconditional love—skills that help me both at home and in my career.

What advice would you give to your younger self before taking the CPA exam?
Don't give up. Don't compare yourself to others. Stay on your own course.

Finish this sentence: "You know you're a CPA when ..."
